“One is your Father, He who is in heaven.” – Matt. 23:9.
“To the eternal king, immortal and invisible, the only God-to Him be honour and glory for ever and ever! Amen.” – 1 Tim. 1:17.
“To the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and power, before all time and now and forever. Amen.” – Jude 1:25.
GOD IS SPIRIT
“God is spirit [the Source of life, yet invisible to mankind], and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” – John 4:24.
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty [emancipation from bondage, true freedom]. – 2 Cor. 3:17.
GOD IS LIGHT
“The sun will no longer be your light by day,
Nor shall the bright glow of the moon give light to you,
But the LORD will be an everlasting light for you;
And your God will be your glory and splendor.” – Isa. 60:19.
Every good thing given, and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], – James 1:17.
This is the message [of God’s promised revelation] which we have heard from Him (His Son) and now announce to you, that God is Light [He is holy, His message is truthful, He is perfect in righteousness], and in Him there is no darkness at all [no sin, no wickedness, no imperfection]. – 1 John 1:5.
GOD IS OMNIPOTENT
When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said,
“I am God Almighty; – Gen. 17:1.
I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob (Israel) as God Almighty [El Shaddai], but by My name, LORD, I did not make Myself known to them [in acts and great miracles]. – Ex. 6:3.
GOD IS OMNISCIENT
O LORD, you have searched me [thoroughly] and have known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up [my entire life, everything I do];
You understand my thought from afar. You scrutinize my path and my lying down,
And You are intimately acquainted with all my ways. Even before there is a word on my tongue [still unspoken],
Behold, O LORD, You know it all. You have enclosed me behind and before,
And [You have] placed Your hand upon me. Such [infinite] knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is too high [above me], I cannot reach it. – Ps. 139:1-6
For the ways of man are directly before the eyes of the LORD,
And He carefully watches all of his paths [all of his comings and goings]. – Prov. 5:21.
GOD IS OMNIPRESENT
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead), behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the dawn,
If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, Even there Your hand will lead me,
And Your right hand will take hold of me. – Ps.139:7-10.
“Am I a God who is at hand,” says the LORD,
“And not a God far away?” “Can anyone hide himself in secret places
So that I cannot see him?” says the LORD.
“Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the LORD. – Jer. 23: 23-24.
GOD IS HOLY
Exalt the LORD our God
And worship at His holy hill [Zion, the temple mount],
For the LORD our God is holy. – Ps. 99:9.
But the LORD of hosts will be exalted in justice,
And God, the Holy One, will show Himself holy in righteousness [through His righteous judgments]. – Isa. 5:16.
GOD IS ETERNAL
The eternal God is your refuge and dwelling place, – Deut. 33:27.
Before the mountains were born
Or before You had given birth to the earth and the world,
Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are [the eternal] God. – Ps. 90:2.
And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes all over and within [underneath their wings]; and day and night they never stop saying, “HOLY, HOLY, HOLY [is the] LORD GOD, THE ALMIGHTY [the Omnipotent, the Ruler of all], WHO WAS AND WHO IS AND WHO IS TO COME [the unchanging, eternal God].”
Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanksgiving to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and they worship Him who lives forever and ever; – Rev. 4:8-10.
GOD IS IMMORTAL
Now to the King of the ages [eternal], immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. – 1 Tim. 1:17.
He alone possesses immortality [absolute exemption from death] and lives in unapproachable light, whom no man has ever seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal power and dominion! Amen. – 1 Tim. 6:16.
GOD IS INVISIBLE
Behold, I go forward (to the east), but He is not there;
I go backward (to the west), but I cannot perceive Him; To the left (north) He turns, but I cannot behold Him;
He turns to the right hand (south), but I cannot see Him. – Job 23:8-9.
No one has seen God [His essence, His divine nature] at any time; the [One and] only begotten God [that is, the unique Son] who is in the intimate presence of the Father, He has explained Him [and interpreted and revealed the awesome wonder of the Father]. – John 1:18.
And the Father who sent Me has Himself testified about Me. You have never heard His voice nor seen His form [His majesty and greatness—what He is like]. – John 5:37.
He is the exact living image [the essential manifestation] of the unseen God [the visible representation of the invisible], the firstborn [the preeminent one, the sovereign, and the originator] of all creation. – Col. 1:15.
Now to the King of the ages [eternal], immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. – 1 Tim. 1:17.
GOD IS IMMUTABLE
Even they will perish, but You endure;
Yes, all of them will wear out like a garment.
Like clothing You will change them and they shall be changed. But You remain the same,
And Your years will never end. –Ps. 102:26-27.
Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes]. – James 1:17.
GOD IS INCORRUPTIBLE
and exchanged the glory and majesty and excellence of the immortal God for an image [worthless idols] in the shape of mortal man and birds and four-footed animals and reptiles. – Rom. 1:23.
GOD IS UNSEARCHABLE
Can you discover the depths of God?
Can you [by searching] discover the limits of the Almighty [ascend to His heights, extend to His widths, and comprehend His infinite perfection]? – Job 11:7.
The Almighty—we cannot find Him;
He is exalted in power
And He will not do violence to [nor disregard] justice and abundant righteousness. Job 37:23.
Great is the LORD, and highly to be praised,
And His greatness is [so vast and profound as to be] unsearchable [incomprehensible to man]. – Ps. 145:3.
Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth
Does not become tired or grow weary;
There is no searching of His understanding. – Isa. 40:28.
Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and decisions and how unfathomable and untraceable are His ways! – Rom. 11:33.
GOD IS MOST HIGH
That they may know that You alone, whose name is the LORD,
Are the Most High over all the earth. – Ps. 83:18.
However, the Most High [the One infinitely exalted above humanity] does not dwell in houses made by human hands; as the prophet [Isaiah] says, – Acts 7:48.
GOD IS LOVE
“For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16.
The one who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love. – 1 John 4:8.
We have come to know [by personal observation and experience], and have believed [with deep, consistent faith] the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides continually in him. – 1 John 4:16.
GOD IS GLORIOUS
Who is like You among the gods, O LORD?
Who is like You, majestic in holiness,
Awesome in splendor, working wonders? – Ex. 15:11.
On the glorious splendor of Your majesty
And on Your wonderful works, I will meditate. – Ps. 145:5.
GOD IS PERFECT
You, therefore, will be perfect [growing into spiritual maturity both in mind and character, actively integrating godly values into your daily life], as your heavenly Father is perfect. – Matt. 5:48.
GOD IS JUST
The Rock! His work is perfect,
For all His ways are just;
A God of faithfulness without iniquity (injustice),
Just and upright is He. – Deut. 32:4.
Declare and present your defense of idols;
Indeed, let them consult together.
Who announced this [rise of Cyrus and his conquests] long before it happened?
Who declared it long ago?
Was it not I, the LORD?
And there is no other God besides Me,
A [consistently and uncompromisingly] just and righteous God and a Savior; – Isa. 45:21.
GOD IS TRUE
But the LORD is the true God and the God who is Truth; – Jer. 10:10.
Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true [supreme and sovereign] God, and [in the same manner know] Jesus [as the] Christ whom You have sent. – John 17:3.
GOD IS UPRIGHT
Good and upright is the LORD;
Therefore He instructs sinners in the way. – Ps. 25:8.
[They are living memorials] to declare that the LORD is upright and faithful [to His promises];
He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. – Ps. 92:15.
GOD IS RIGHTEOUS
“O LORD God of Israel, You are [uncompromisingly] just (righteous), for we have been left as survivors, as it is this day. Behold, we are before You in our guilt, for no one can stand before You because of this.” – Ezra 9:15.
The LORD is [unwaveringly] righteous in all His ways
And gracious and kind in all His works. – Ps.145:17.
GOD IS GOOD
Good and upright is the LORD;
Therefore He instructs sinners in the way. – Ps.25:8.
You are good and do good; – Ps. 119:68.
GOD IS GREAT
The house I am going to build will be great, for our God is greater than all the gods. – 2 Chron. 2:5.
For You are great and do wondrous works!
You alone are God. – Ps. 86:10.
GOD IS GRACIOUS
Then the LORD passed by in front of him, and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth (faithfulness); – Ex. 34:6.
Gracious is the LORD, and [consistently] righteous;
Yes, our God is compassionate. – Ps. 116:5.
GOD IS FAITHFUL
No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy]. – 1 Cor. 10:13.
Therefore, those who are ill-treated and suffer in accordance with the will of God must [continue to] do right and commit their souls [for safe-keeping] to the faithful Creator. – 1 Pet. 4:19.
GOD IS MERCIFUL
Then the LORD passed by in front of him, and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth (faithfulness); keeping mercy and lovingkindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin; but He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting (avenging) the iniquity (sin, guilt) of the fathers upon the children and the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations [that is, calling the children to account for the sins of their fathers]. – Ex. 34:6-7.
For You, O Lord, are good, and ready to forgive [our sins, sending them away, completely letting them go forever and ever].
And abundant in lovingkindness and overflowing in mercy to all those who call upon You. – Ps. 86:5.
GOD IS COMPASSIONATE
But the LORD was gracious to them and had compassion on them and turned toward them for the sake of His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and He was unwilling to destroy them, and did not cast them from His presence until now. – 2 Kings 13:23.
GOD IS JEALOUS
The LORD is a jealous and avenging God [protecting and demanding what is rightfully and uniquely His]; – Nah. 1:2.
GOD ONLY IS WISE
to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be the glory forevermore! Amen. – Rom. 16:27.
GOD IS LONG-SUFFERING
The LORD is slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, forgiving wickedness and transgression; but He will by no means clear the guilty, visiting (avenging) the wickedness and guilt of the fathers on the children, to the third and fourth generations [that is, calling the children to account for the sins of their fathers]. – Num. 14:18.
GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE
for our God is [indeed] a consuming fire. – Heb. 12:29.
NONE BEFORE OUR GOD
You are My witnesses,” declares the LORD,
“And My servant whom I have chosen,
That you may know and believe Me
And understand that I am He.
Before Me there was no God formed,
And there will be none after Me. – Isa. 43:10.
NONE BESIDE OUR GOD
It was shown to you so that you might have [personal] knowledge and comprehend that the LORD is God; there is no other besides Him. – Deut. 4:35.
For the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts says this, ‘I am the First and I am the Last;
And there is no God besides Me. – Isa. 44:6.
NONE LIKE OUR GOD
For this time I will send all My plagues on you [in full force,] and on your servants and on your people, so that you may know [without any doubt] and acknowledge that there is no one like Me in all the earth. – Ex. 9:14.
There is none like the God of Jeshurun (Israel),
Who rides the heavens to your help,
And through the skies in His majestic glory. – Deut. 33:26.
Therefore, You are great, O Lord GOD; for there is none like You, and there is no God besides You, according to all that we have heard with our ears. – 2 Sam. 7:22.
I am the LORD, and there is no one else;
There is no God except Me. – Isa. 45:5.
Remember [carefully] the former things [which I did] from ages past;
For I am God, and there is no one else;
I am God, and there is no one like Me, – Isa. 46:9.
There is none like You, O LORD;
You are great, and great is Your mighty and powerful name. – Jer. 10:6.
NONE IS GOOD BUT GOD
Jesus answered, “Why are you asking Me about what is [essentially] good? There is only One who is [essentially] good; – Matt. 19:17.
GOD FILLS HEAVEN AND EARTH
But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain You; how much less this house which I have built! – 1 Kings 8:27.
Can anyone hide himself in secret places
So that I cannot see him?” says the LORD.
“Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the LORD. – Jer. 23:24.
GOD SHOULD BE WORSHIPPED IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH
“God is spirit [the Source of life, yet invisible to mankind], and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” – John 4:24.
